The camp run and booked by Khwai Development Trust is a large open area with no facilities or fences. The site is for Tour Operator groups only. Matswere is named for the grove of giant leadwood or combretum imberbe that this exclusive camp site is set in. The site is located along the Sable Alley river south of the old Machaba Camp and 5km from the Magotho Camp grounds. Visitors to this camp site are treated to spectacular views of the Sable Alley river sytem and the fascinating bird life that call it home.

Magotho Camp Site

Magotho Campsite (Khwai Community Campsite) is located 20 kilometres east of the Khwai village along the main Moremi - Savuti road.The 15 campsites are lying in the shade of camelthorn tress which grow abundantly in this area. The camp ground is divided into a northern and a southern part.The campsites are very basic, but there are ablution facilities available. Guests are advised to bring everything that is required along, especially water.

Sable Alley Camp Site

Sable Alley is an exclusive Camping site located in the western side of Matswere, 1 KM from Sable Alley river with a gentle stream running from it. The site is located on comretum imberbe or lead wood trees and croton megabotrysor large fever-berry trees. This camp site is interestingly a breeding ground for one of Botswana's most endangered bird species the Slaty egret.
